Claire of Market chef fame creates tasty British plates inspired by seasonal market produce. Rooted in Manchester we’ve combined forces to showcase the best seasonal food available in our great city.
Claire has been navigating New Smithfield wholesale market for over a decade, now firm friends with the traders, she can ensure she secures the freshest and best ingredients for her events.
Claire will buy all the produce for your seasonal supper in the morning, then prepare and cook you a wonderful meal, which you’ll enjoy eating in our spacious dining room. Throughout the event, Claire will be on hand to answer any questions and will demo how to make elements of the meal.
If you would like an early start to join Claire at the market, we can arrange this.
Note: menu can be adapted to a Vegetarian diet and most allergies catered for. If you would like a Vegan option, please discuss with us.
Sample Menu – subject to seasonal availability
Main Course – Pork Fillet ‘Waldorf’ Wellington, with celeriac purée, steamed beetroot and Bramley apple, kale and buttered cider sauce.
Cornish Sardines, Golden Beetroot Salad, Pickled Slaw
Vegetarian Option – Butternut Squash ‘Waldorf’ Wellington.
Dessert – Sticky Toffee Plum Pudding with spiced Banana ‘Ice-cream’
Kissabel Apple Tarte Tatin
Claire also runs tours of the market showing you how to navigate and buy the freshest produce.
Glass of prosecco, beer or soft drink on arrival at the cookery school, further drinks can be purchased from our well stocked bar.
