The Mekong River is located in South East Asia and stretches across six countries: China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam This class will look at three different curries from the region  – Thai, Vietnamese, Malay – which will give you a wealth of knowledge so you can create many different dishes.

Northern Thai food has a distinct character, quite different from the flavours most people associate with central Thai cuisine. The curries, in particular, show strong Burmese influences. Unlike many Thai curries, they’re made without coconut milk, giving them a lighter, thinner consistency—but don’t let that fool you. They’re every bit as delicious and can be mind-blowingly spicy! Don’t worry, though: during the class, you’ll be able to choose exactly how much heat you want to add to your dishes.
