Class Description

Salan Roti is a recipe book written by Sobia Bashir, from heart to table. Sobia grew up in Bradford, the curry capital of Britain. So it goes without saying that she had access to some of the best Pakistani cuisine for most of her life. That said, restaurant and take away food is completely different to the food eaten at home.

Learning the basics of traditional Pakistani cooking couldn’t be easier. If you’ve always wanted to try but never really had the right teacher, then this is definitely the right place to start. You’ll change the way you look at curries and Sobia will have you cooking them like a pro in no time.

During the class you will create dishes to eat at with like minded others in our sociable dining room, you’ll take home left overs.

The class can be adapted to most allergies and dietary requirements, just let us know when you book – Vegetarian & Vegan alternatives available.

Examples of what you might cook:

  • Lamb Pilau
  • Chicken Shorba
  • Roti
  • Raita

What’s included:

Glass of fizz, wine, beer or soft drink on arrival. Enjoy the food you create in the dining room at the end of the class, all leftovers can be taken home – bring suitable containers!

Sobia BashirGrowing up, food was at the centre of everything we did as a family and cooking from scratch was a given. It’s a lost art for most people, so I really want to show anyone that wants to learn, how easy and healthy Pakistani cuisine really is to create at home. All you need is a few staple ingredients and a whole lot of love thrown in for good measure.
